Bathymetry and Marine Structures Surveying

Hydrographic surveys include geodetic and oceanographic surveys in environments covered by water. Two important components of geodetic studies are position and depth measurements.

‘Bathymetry’, one of the hydrographic surveys, is a survey method that includes depth and position information for determining the underwater topography.

In today’s technology, bathymetric surveys are generally carried out with two different survey methods: multibeam and singlebeam. In general, RTK surveying method is preferred for marine surveying due to its high position accuracy.
